Shane’s passion to teach & share his recipes lead him to publish Three books “The edge of Fusion” 2009, “Infusion” 2011 & “Cape Fusion” 2015.The later two scooped up three international awards at the Gourmand Awards in Spain for “Best Chefs book published 2011” “Most innovative Chefs book 2015 & Best South African Recipe book 2015″.
All the recipes are on his style of food Fusion in which Shane has affectionately been dubbed by the critics as ” The father of South African Fusion Cuisine” Shane & Janet’s buisness partnership blossomed into marriage & three children Falcon, Willow & Marina. Twelve years ago together they made thier life dream come true opening LaPentola Hermanus where they reside & enjoy thier family buisness with a panoramic sea view.
Shane loves his office yet still consults on request. Through occasional television appearances, pod casts & anual participation in the Fynarts festival since it’s inception Shane continues to share his passion & enthusiasm for food, wine & a dynamic ever evolving industry in which he continues to train chefs & navigate the challenges being an independent Chef Patron.
